CONTEXT
Fall-O-Ween: Harvest of Heroes is a family-focused fall festival that blends traditional autumn activities with a superhero-inspired theme. I developed the event’s visual direction to feel playful and imaginative for kids while still polished enough to live across a large-scale event environment.
(Overview)
The goal was to create a recognizable event identity that brought together two very different visual worlds: fall and superheroes. The creative direction treated the event like a hero training camp set inside a fall festival, giving the branding a clear story that could extend across signage, promotional graphics, activities, and on-site experiences.
(Challenge)
The biggest challenge was making the superhero influence feel original without relying too heavily on familiar comic-book clichés. At the same time, the visuals needed to stay approachable for families, communicate event information clearly, and work across multiple formats throughout the venue.
(Solution)
I built the identity around a “hero training camp meets fall festival” concept, combining superhero-inspired emblems, bold typography, seasonal textures, and fall-based visual elements into one cohesive system. Instead of leaning on generic Halloween or comic-book tropes, the direction used badges, shields, and custom hero symbols to give the event its own personality.
The system was then adapted across social graphics, signage, wayfinding, photo opportunities, and activity-specific visuals, keeping the experience consistent while still giving each touchpoint enough flexibility to feel unique.
